J-Net Global Indexes, LLC (J-Net) was founded in 2007 for the express purpose of developing benchmarking tools for the global investment themes that do not conform to traditional index structures. The first series of indexes to be published by J-Net is the Janney Global Water IndexSM family.
J-Net is a partnership between Janney Montgomery, Scott LLC, a prominent full service investment and investment banking firm with significant expertise in the water sector, and S-Network LLC, a developer of indexes and investment products.
J-Net operates as an independent and unbiased source of primary information concerning the global water industry. Its family of indexes is supervised by an independent Index Committee, which includes individuals with long-term domestic and international experience in the global water sector. The Janney Global Water IndexesSM are calculated and maintained by Standard and Poor’s Custom Indices, a business unit of Standard and Poors.
J-Net Global Indexes, LLC is committed to the integrity of its indexes and the data and information related to them. As a consequence, all index methodologies are transparent and rules based. Their compilation is almost entirely non-discretionary and the independent Index Committee assures arms-length impartiality. J-Net Global Indexes, LLC has created what we believe to be the most accurate indicators of global water industry performance available today.
